About the Artwork
This artwork is inspired by the Kuku Yalanyi Country, where a rich array of plants and animals reside in the tropical rain forest in Australia. After living in far north Queensland, and frequently visiting the Daintree Rainforest, I was inspired by the colours of the wildlife, flora and fauna in this area.
It is part of a larger body of work that is a celebration of the modern woman in today's world. She understands where she has come from and where she is going next. She is socially aware and embraces her culture and heritage with a modern twist.
This body of work is inspired by my travels as a young girl, backpacking around the world. It also embodies my keen interest in fashion and textiles.
