About the artwork:
This artwork is inspired by the Caribbean fashion, colour and pattern. It is bright, bold and vibrant. The background represents gemstone patterns found in the Caribbean; the sand from tigers eye and the water from Larimar. The sky is gold leaf, and is symbolic of the beautiful sunsets.
It is part of a larger body of work that is a celebration of the modern woman in today's world. She understands where she has come from and where she is going next. She is socially aware and embraces her culture and heritage with a modern twist
This body of work is inspired by my travels as a young girl, backpacking around the world. It also embodies my keen interest in fashion and textiles.
